At long last

Yes, it's been a while. Yes, I am truly, deeply apologetic to you, my dedicated viewers and/or readers. I realize that you'd probably all be a lot more dedicated if I was more regular, and maybe a little more committed. It's shameful, I know. Well, never again will I leave you good people hanging for so long. I will do my utmost to post lovely updates with more regularity, and if I don't, you have my permission to spam me with messages calling me a lazy, no-good irresponsible blogger until I post you some lovely new art.
On the plus side, while I've been overlooking by regular blogging, I have been creating a whole bunch of stuff that resembles artwork in my various classes at the OCAD. Without further ado, I shall let the images speak for themselves. Any feedback would be appreciated.

The final version for the "Magician's Funeral" media studio project.

Skeletal drawing for anatomy class, 1 of 2.

This will, in the relatively near future, be getting cast in bronze! look for it here, people!

Magician's Funeral

These are images of pieces I created for Media Studio, a second year illustration course. We had to work with the theme of a magician's funeral, and were limited to watercolours and ink. This piece received a positive critique in class, which somewhat surprised me. I'll be going back into it at a later date to fix the giant block of nothingness in the middle, and that should improve the overall appearance of the work.
This piece was the experiment. The week after, the finished copies were due, and once I get it back, I'll take pictures and post them for you.
I'm currently hard at work on a wax sculpture that will in the long run be turning into bronze. I don't have any images of that for you yet, but I'll try to take some while I'm working today. Thanks!

Happy groundhog day!

So, first things first, happy ground hog day. Pork sausages for all (unless you're vegetarian, in which case you're out of luck)!
Second, to all you in south-western Ontario, happy snow dollops. The school has closed for at least the morning, and there's something about not having to go to your 8:30 History of Modern Art lecture that's just so liberating. The morning is mine to conquer!
And third and finally, you may recall the Media Studio "experiments" that I posted in the recent past. If not, scroll down and find them. They were in January. Here's the final project; we had to create six images on the theme of love. Cheesy romantic love is all fine and good, but I didn't want to do something that was so cliché.
As an aside, in my post yesterday there should have been a link to Rudolf Bikkers' website. Enjoy, his work is pretty great.

February, everyone!

At intaglio class several weeks ago, our prof Rudolph Bikkers (, check it out, this guy is mind-blowingly proficient) gave each of us a bug encased in plastic, which we were to draw. These are my results. I did a little research to find a more interesting position that I could place my scorpion in. I'm fairly happy with the final print, and I detect myself and intaglio getting on pretty well in the future.

Don't worry, I'm sure something more conceptual will pop up in the coming weeks.
